I am the Michael Andrew Tribe who was born in Erith, Kent UK in October 1943 (at that time in North West Kent rather than South East London as it is now) but moved with my mother soon afterwards to the house of her immediate family in Woodmansterne, Surrey while my father was with the Royal Army Service Corps during the Second World War.
The website was set up in November 2015, and has been updated irregularly since then. I have been living in the West End of Glasgow since the autumn of 2011, at which time I moved back up to Glasgow from West Yorkshire where I had been resident in Haworth during my long association with the University of Bradford. During the years 1986 to 2011 my wife and I had a small house in Haworth but still we had a small flat in Glasgow which Kathryn (the Scottish artist Kathryn Kynoch) used as her ‘base’ and, for most of the time, her studio. Sadly, Kathryn passed away at the end of February 2025, and a future revision of this website will contain more up to date information and reminiscences.
In the first instance the principal objective of this website was to make my curriculum vitae and a number of published and unpublished papers accessible. The website can also be developed to include a wider range of materials.
I have a number of email addresses at which I can be contacted, but the first port of call can be michael.tribe35@gmail.com.
